When should children have their first dental visit?
Children should have their first dental visit by their first birthday or within six months after their first tooth comes in, whichever comes first. This early visit sets the foundation for good oral health habits and enables the dentist to identify any potential issues early on. After the initial visit, it is recommended that children visit the dentist every six months for regular check-ups and cleanings. Parents can also consult with their dentist on specific needs for their child's oral health, such as guidance on fluoride supplements, braces, and the use of mouthguards for sports.
